The fatal impact occurred on the road connecting the towns of Leverano and Nardò . According to a first reconstruction, a woman driving a car, for reasons yet to be ascertained, lost control of the vehicle crashing into a tree. On board there was also a 44-year-old man , originally from Reggio Emilia . Arrived on the spot, health workers of the 118 service and the Fire Brigade proceeded to recover the two, noting the death of the 44-year-old. Instead, the woman was rushed to hospital.
